Today we’re going more deep into a product that every day is more demanded by our customers: the outdoor box roller shade or outdoors box roller blinds.
These roll-up Box blinds for exteriors are a system that easily adapts to any architecture or structure of any building, thanks to its discreet esthetic, its different finishes and its resistance to the outdoors, due to its high quality materials fabrication and rust resistance.
But we should not only have in mind the esthetics and quality on this area, but also mention that this product contributes to the environment preservation reducing the contamination emission and residues, and energy saving minimizing the use of non-renewable energy. The energy saving can go up to 55% of air conditioning.
Unlike another post I wrote back on 2013, on this one I’d like to go deeper on the different types of Box Roller Shades or Box Roller Blinds indicated for outdoors installing:
Outdoor Roller Shade or Roller Blinds with O-Box:
Roller Shade or Roller Blind with Box
This is a roll-up curtain that goes inside a round box (with O shape). Hence its O-Box name.
This round design creates a more contemporary decoration able to be installed, not only outdoors, but indoors too.
It can cover up areas of up to 14 square feet.
Its action system are diverse too:
-by chain
-by lever
-by motor.
By being a product designed for exteriors it’s necessary to guide them (unless they go inside), it has many guiding levels:
– Stainless steel guide cable of 3.5mmø
– Stainless steel guide rod of 12 and 10mmø
– Aluminum “U” and reinforced “U” guide, that allows a freestanding hold.
Outdoor Roller Shade or Roller Blinds with D-Box:
Box Roller Shade or Box Roller Blind: D-Box
This is a roll-up curtain that goes inside a box with D shape.
This is the box that adjusts better to the dimensions of each window, since it has 4 different sizes, according to the required measurements.
Its action systems are the same ones for the O-Box:
-by chain
-by lever
-by motor
And its guiding systems adapt to the every customer’s needs:
– Galvanized guide cable.
– Stainless guide cable.
– “U” and reinforced “U” for a freestanding installation.
Outdoor Box Roller Shade or Roller Blind: D-Box
Outdoor Roller Shade or Roller Blinds with S-Box:
]Outdoor Box Roller Shade or Roller Blind: S-Box
This is a roll-up curtain that goes inside a squared box (hence its name), with which adapts to the gap of the window like one more component from the aluminum guide box. We even have three box sizes form better precision according to the width of the guide box.
Its action systems are the same ones as for the O and D Box:
-by chain
-by lever
-by motor.
And its guiding systems adapt to the every customer’s needs:
– Galvanized guide cable.
– Stainless guide cable.
– “U” and reinforced “U” for a freestanding installation
Outdoor Roller Shade or Roller Blinds with Z-Box:

This is a roll-up curtain that goes inside a squared box, very similar to the S-Box. So you might ask yourself, what’s the difference?

The difference about this curtain to the S-Box, and the other ones too, is its guiding system. If you remember, the O-Box as well as the D and S, can be guided by guide cables, guide rods o “U” guides.

The Z-Box goes with a zip guide (hence the name Z-Box) welded to the fabric’s laterals. This gives us the following advantages over the other roll-up curtains.
– More resistance to the wind (up to 90 km/h)
– The fabric is hold by the zip and inside the guide which doesn’t leave any uncovered space. In other words, it also protects from insects.
– This Box can be made with obscuring fabrics, which allows to leave a room completely dark (making the function of conventional roll-up blinds). The rest of the Boxes can only be made with Polyscreen ®.

In conclusion, this roll-up curtain with Box is the one that offers a more efficient solar control and more security.
