In Stuttgart, from 27 February to 3 March 2018, the world’s most important solar protection trade fair took place: R+T. It’s a huge and fascinating event. Of all the fairs I attend, this is my favourite, because there are always new developments in technology, design and trends. And, above all, the quality of the products on display at the stands — which are, incidentally, beautifully presented — is outstanding.
I’d sum up the developments for these two years as follows:

- Major growth in technical and bioclimatic pergolas. Outdoor living is clearly taking over, make no mistake.
- Square cassette awnings, with clean, straight lines.
