Technical Fabrics

2 min read

Nowadays there are many options and factors to consider when choosing curtains or a blind for your home or workplace. In other words, you need to decide between several types of curtains and blinds, and between many types of fabric. This is where each client’s taste, specific needs and the advice they receive come into play.
Here are some of the technical fabrics used to make our curtains and blinds, designed to protect, filter or thermally regulate a room and ensure a healthy environment at home or in the workplace.

We have pearlescent fabrics, coated with a reflective film applied to the side of the fabric that faces the window — that is, facing the outside of the building — creating a greater reflective effect than other fabrics. This fabric absorbs a large part of the radiation thanks to its metallic coating, minimising the energy needed to control the room’s temperature. However, the room still lets in light; it does not achieve 100% darkness.

Blackout fabrics manage to prevent light from entering rooms, spaces and/or buildings without sacrificing the aesthetics of their windows.
This fabric is especially used for bedrooms or rooms where the client wants to achieve total darkness for sleeping, projecting images, etc. In fact, with our new blackout guides we can achieve 100% darkness.

Fire-retardant fabrics: thanks to their coating, these fabrics are flame-retardant, preventing fire from spreading through the room.

Fibreglass fabrics. All of these fabrics are fire-retardant, have great dimensional stability and are highly decorative, as they closely resemble natural fabrics.
Ecovision fabric, also known as Natural Screen because it contains no PVC in its composition. It retains the characteristic of perfect visibility to the outside while maintaining privacy indoors.
In addition, we also offer a Pearlescent Screen. This is mainly aimed at workplaces because it eliminates screen reflections while still letting light through.
It looks similar to Polyscreen® 314 but with a pearlescent reverse side, allowing for greater light reflectance. It has an openness factor of 5% and is fire-resistant (M1 and NFBA – 701).

Polyscreen® fabric guarantees greater energy savings, better solar protection and perfect light management thanks to its different levels of openness.

Finally, we have Ecoreflex fabric, mainly aimed at workplaces. It is an innovative fabric on the market. Its weave prevents fraying while remaining elastic and flexible.

As you can see, it’s important to know what you are looking for so that you can be properly advised. That way, your needs will be fully met and, best of all, at a more than reasonable price that’s affordable for everyone!
