Technology is advancing by leaps and bounds in every aspect of life, and sun protection products are, fortunately, no exception. Nowadays, sun protection goes hand in hand with comfort thanks to automation.
Which products can be motorised
Currently, the vast majority of sun protection products can be motorised: interior blinds, exterior blinds, traditional curtains, pleated curtains, venetian blinds, skylights, ceiling blinds, exterior shutters, awnings, pergolas, among others.
Technologies
There are different technologies for motorising your products depending on your needs or preferences:
Cable motor:

Cable motors are operated with a wall-mounted push button. There must be one push button per product.

This motor comes with four cables (earth, live, neutral, and one for changing direction) covered by a thicker white cable. This cable runs from the motor, which is inside the product, to the push button.

From the push button to the mains, there are three cables: live, neutral and earth.

This is an interesting option when the property is under construction, since the cables can be hidden.
Radio frequency motor

Radio frequency motors are operated with a remote control.

The remote can have 1 channel, 5 channels or 16 channels.

This motor comes inside the product and only needs a power supply with three cables (live, neutral and earth).

Communication between the motor and the remote is via radio frequency, so there’s no need to worry about cables.

The control can also take the form of a push button fixed to the wall, but it still works via radio frequency.

No building work is required for installation.

It has obstacle detection and anti-frost protection functions (the motor stops if the last slat freezes).

It automatically readjusts raising and lowering to provide perfect opening and closing.

It extends the life of the product because only the force needed is applied to it.

IO technology motor

It has the same features as radio frequency motors, with an additional advantage: two-way communication between the motor and the control point. This way, it can indicate if there’s an error.

Put simply, the control gives the order to the motor, and the motor sends back a status report.

It has a two-way remote control for centralisation.

Without any complication, using simple icons, we can raise and lower shutters or blinds, extend and retract awnings, operate curtains or open the garage door.
The screen shows us the status of the shutters, awnings and/or curtains, confirming the execution of all commands given and reporting in real time on the actions carried out, whether they were executed correctly, or if there’s a problem.
