Good morning, everyone!
It’s always true that, when it comes to dressing our windows, we’re hit with doubts about the type of blind, the right fabric, how it should be fitted, and so on. Don’t worry, that’s completely normal, because it’s not an easy decision at all.
That’s why today I’ll be talking about Roman blinds and Pacchetto blinds, because although they’re among the most classic and common options, they never go out of style, standing out for their functionality and decorative appeal.
You’re probably wondering: are a Roman blind and a Pacchetto blind the same thing?
The answer is no. Although they’re two similar types of blind, they’re not the same. The difference between them is that Roman blinds have horizontal battens, while Pacchetto blinds don’t.
Roman blinds are gathered up in successive straight folds thanks to rings positioned on the back of each horizontal batten.

Pacchetto blinds have no battens, so as they’re raised they form a sort of pouch in the centre, giving this product a more relaxed feel and allowing it to gather into a smaller space.

Another difference lies in the types of fabric used to make them.
For Roman blinds, we don’t recommend using thin, translucent fabrics, as the battens would show through and spoil their glamorous look. That’s why we prefer to make them with heavier fabrics that drape better, so the battens aren’t noticeable.
For Pacchetto blinds, we use finer, more translucent fabrics, achieving a more natural drape and a softer look.
Although we have our own fabric preferences, there’s a wide range of fabrics with different textures and colours to create contemporary settings that can easily be adapted to each client’s needs, for either type of blind. For example:
Blinds in translucent fabric: because it’s a fine fabric, you’ll get plenty of natural light into the room, creating a brighter, cosier atmosphere.
Blinds in Polyscreen® fabric: a highly resistant fabric that, as well as letting light through, lets you see outside through the fabric.
Blinds in blackout fabric: blocks between 97% and 100% of sunlight. It’s an ideal fabric for bedrooms, helping you get a good night’s sleep. It’s also ideal for screening rooms and meeting rooms.
As always, here are some images of Roman and Pacchetto blinds in different fabrics.
